When you pick up a White Witch product in a shop you will notice that it is totally different from any other beauty product you have ever held. Seeing them on the website, unless you have already used them you will be unfamiliar with what you are looking at.

What do they look like inside?

When you open the wrapping on most of our products you will find a sachet made from biodegradable material. Inside the sachet is a blend of organic herbs and powders. By adding water you release the properties of these herbs. The bio-material allows the herbal infusion through without the herbs, just the same as a tea bag.

The bath sachets: The bath sachets come in twin packs. Each packet contains two individually wrapped biodegradable sachets of organic herbs, dried fruit peel, flowers and herbal powders. When you are running your bath just open the outer packet one a single and throw the sachet as it is into the bath. It helps to run just the hot tap first. You will see a lightly colored swirls coming out of the sachet. These are the herbs beginning to infuse and blend with your bath water. The colour is mostly green or yellow but sometimes it is a warm red colour. It is a good idea to run the hot part of your bath with the herbal sachet first while you are getting everything ready for your bath. Another way of doing it is to infuse the sachet first in a big jug of boiling water and add this to your already run bath once it has infused. We don't use any essential oils so there is no worry about skin irritations or sensitization. We also don't use essential oils is because we feel that in our world today we are bombarded with "nice" smells and perfumes ad nauseum. White Witch thinks it's a relief to get a break from the smells and just get back to the more subtler experiences that nature provides. One more thing about the herbal baths - you can use any of them in a footbath if you like. The results can be even more potent, particulary with the Healing, Sleepy Byes and Mermaid bath sachets.

The hair rinses: Like the bath sachets these also come in twin packs. Each packet contains two individually wrapped biodegradable sachets of organic herbs, dried fruit peel, flowers and herbal powders. To use: first boil the kettle. Get a big jug that can take boiling water. Take one of the sachets and open it. Place it in the jug and pour over the boiling water. A liter or so, but you don't have to be exact. While the herbs are infusing you will see the water changing colour, these are the natural colours of the herbs. Meanwhile you can go and wash your hair as usual. Take your herbal infusion to the bathroom with you. Make sure you have given plenty of time for the water to cool so you don't scald yourself with boiling water. Take out the sachet and squeeze gently into the jug to get all the infusion out. You can throw the used sachet in the garden as a fertilizer or into the compost bin. When you have washed and conditioned your hair towel dry and then leaning over the sink, or while you are still in the shower, pour the jug of Hairepair over the full length of your hair including your scalp. Squeeze out the excess and then style hair as usual. One treatment per week is enough to produce visible lasting results. You will immediately notice your hair has more gloss and over time you will begin to notice faster hair growth, thicker locks and less breakage. The hair rinses will not change the colour of your hair, it will bring out the best of your hair colour though and add depth. The Hairepair for White Hair will really help to remove any brassiness common in whte hair, it is also very nourishing and is recommended as a hair massage for thnning hair.

The lotion bars: A White Witch lotion bar is lotion that is solid until it is rubbed against warm skin. We use pure food-grade oils and nut butters and then add enough beeswax to make it solid. The lotion bars come in three varieties: Bridgets Balm, Sensual Massage Bar and Foot Lotion Bar. Our lotion bars are contained in a stiff recycled paper outer wrapper that is lined with butter paper and there is cellophane to ensure hygiene. The lotion bar itself is wrapped in the same bio material that is used in the bath sachets. This means you can take out the whole bar and rub it on an area of your body without gettng it all on your hands unless you want to. Our lotion bars are great value and will last about 6 months or more. We recommend cutting a little of the Bridgets Balm bar off for separate uses because it is so versatile. For example you might want to use it on your lips, and you might also what to use some on your baby's bottom for treating nappy rash. Obviously you won't want to use the same bar. You can cut off a small chunk for that special purpose. We can provide minature wappers and we can send you a few with your Bridgets Balm so that you can keep a separate piece in your bag or the car. The Foot Lotion Bars could be cut into two for sharing. Again we can send you an extra package if you like. The lotion bars stay solid in a warm room but it is not recopmmended that you leave one on a radiator or on a sunny windowsill or the window of your car, it will stay solid in the glove box or in the shade even on the beach on a sunny day. 

The Cleansease: Cleansease are totally different from anything you have ever tried. Each pack of cleansease contains 5 individual sachets. Each is filled with a blend of oatmeal and herbal powders. To use cleansease, take a single sachet out of the pack and wet it. You can use bottled water if you are traveling or plain tap water. Warm is best but not essential. When the sachet is completely wet sqeeze it very gently to remove the excess but leave it moist. Then rub it all over your face and neck. It is gentle enough for your eye area. You can spend a minute or two massaging Cleansease into your skin. If you have make up on your face you should stop at this point and rinse your face before repeating the process, you can use the same sachet the second time. Once the liquid is rubbed into the skin leave it for 10 minutes. It will dry and tighten on your face. It rinses easily of your face with plain water. Pat dry gently with a soft towel. After using cleansease you will find that your face feels naturally moisturized and you may not even need to apply a moisturizer. The firming effect lasts hours. Cleansease helps to reduce any reddness or skin irritation you may be experiencing and is one of the only products on the market that will not irritate skin that is already inflammed. The antiseptic action will reduce the redness of spots and will promote fast healing. Some people find that a spot "disappears" after just one use. The Balancing Cleansease is for oily skin, it has an immediate and lasting effect reducing secrections and oily shine. The Rose Cleansease is ideal for skin that has a tendency to heat, it also benefits mature skin types. The Honey Cleansease is excellent for skin that is sensitive, prone to occasional spots and dry patches. All types of Cleansease bring a new glow to dull complexions, have a firming action and helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and even deep set wrinkles. Can be used on other areas of the body such as breasts or buttocks to firm and reduce cellulite.

The Hair Tonic: The Hairepair Hairtonic is not a shampoo it is a hair treatment. It works by sealing the shaft of the hair making it stronger and it also adds brilliant shine. It helps maintain a healthy condition of the scalp and it helps prevent dandruff and stimulate the hair follicles and quickens the growth of the hair.

There are two sachets in each packet. One sachet makes enough tonic to last for up to three weeks.
To use place the sachet in a jug. Pour over 2 large mugs of boiling water. Leave to infuse and cool before squeezing and removing the sachet. Pour the cooled infusion into a clean bottle that has a lid. Keep the bottle in the fridge as there are no preservatives. This will keep up to 3 weeks.

At least three times per day pour some of the herbal infusion into the palm of your hands. Apply to the scalp, massage in well. You can use it on the whole shaft of your hair in the same way. It will lightly dampen your hair but will dry without leaving any residue. It will continue working after each application. I recommend that you apply 3 times per day but there is no limit to how much you can apply safely. If you get any on your face it will not sting and there is no need to rinse your hands after each application.
